In each of our dumbbell product categories, we constantly refine and fine-tune our designs and our manufacturing practices in passionate pursuit of the perfect dumbbell. In rubber dumbbells, perfection is defined as being gentlest on equipment, safest for people, indestructible, neutralized odor, a classic look, an awesome feel, and super tight fastening. All of our fixed weight dumbbells incorporate Ivanko’s PermaLock TM fastening system which employs proprietary machining tolerances and surface preparation to achieve a metal-to- metal bond that requires 400 foot pounds of torque to twist apart.

NOTE: FIXED DBELLS ARE NOT WARRANTIED AGAINST BREAKAGE WHEN DBELLS ARE ABUSED OR DAMAGED DUE TO EXCESSIVE DROPPING ON FLOORS. IF YOUR FACILITY HAS NO PROGRAM TO CONTROL ABUSIVE USE OF DUMBBELLS, BARBELLS, AND/OR PLATES, IVANKO WOULD RATHER NOT ACCEPT THE ORDER.

100% thread depth in handle Usually a 25% thread depth in handle. By making hole over-sized, they have no tap breakage. The tap goes in and out quickly and they make more handles. This is dangerous as you do not get a completely threaded handle. The bolt has nothing to hold on to.
Triple chrome-plated with nickel base. One or two layer chrome plating.
IVANKO deep, custom knurl for sure, functional grip. Shallow or "cosmetic" knurl; non-functional; offers no grip.
Gauges are used at each step to check exactness of manufacturing. No use of any gauges.

* Washers are many times made out of powdered metal. This material was great for typewriter parts, but will not hold up for a dumbbell washer.
